What Autis is
An app for autistic people and for the people who support them with their permission. It brings together an artificial intelligence companion that knows the person, a one-tap record of how they are, a crisis mode that tells others what to do, a way to communicate when speech isn’t possible, and a personal Manual.
The essentials work without an account and without a connection. Everything for a crisis and the planner are free forever. The data lives on the person’s phone.
Mission
That every autistic person has something in their pocket that understands them on the hardest days, and that the people around them know what to do without the person having to explain it again.
Vision
That being autistic doesn’t mean losing support at eighteen, or having no words in a crisis. We start in Chile and in Spanish, and we build for any language and any country.
Principles
They come from the research and from what the autistic community has asked for for years.
- 01
The person first
They own their profile from day one. Others come in with their permission, one piece of data at a time.
- 02
Support, don’t normalize
No feature trains eye contact, suppresses movement or corrects how someone speaks.
- 03
An AI that knows what it isn’t
It says it’s an artificial intelligence, separates keeping you company from checking facts, and never diagnoses.
- 04
Local first
The essentials work offline and the data lives on the phone, encrypted.
- 05
Crisis and planner, never charged
Crisis mode and the planner are free forever, for everyone.
- 06
Tested first with autistic people
No feature opens to everyone without first being tested with autistic people.
Why it matters
About one in a hundred people worldwide is autistic, and almost all support is designed for childhood. In Chile, the 2022 national disability survey estimated 44,594 autistic adults; autism isn’t covered by the GES health guarantees, and the public-system wait for a specialist appointment is over two hundred days.
Who makes it
Autis is a product of hyperz, a technology and artificial intelligence studio.
Founder
Nicolás Günther
Systems engineer and artificial intelligence specialist, with more than fourteen years designing and running software at scale. He leads hyperz, researches memory and identity in artificial intelligence, and mentors technology startups.
He has a 2e profile: high ability together with a way of processing the world that differs from most people’s. He knows what it is to use systems built for another kind of person. Autis is the tool he would have wanted to have.
With the Aria AI platform
Autis is built by Nicolás and Aria AI, hyperz’s artificial intelligence platform, which designs, builds, tests and operates software alongside him. Everything is checked against criteria written beforehand, and what doesn’t meet them isn’t published.
